We’re Finally Reopening! And Now?
We had already experienced this feeling about 1 year ago, and soon after, the world was once again suspended, in the throes of the 2nd wave and the development of new strains.
Once again, Aviation, Hospitality, Culture, Restaurants are back on their feet, trying to ensure that the brutal impact of the last year does not permanently compromise our economy.
We soon realized that everything would change the way we live and, even more, the way we work. Many businesses needed to reinvent themselves to survive, adapting themselves to new strategies so as not to lose their audience.
Amid all this, the role of HR professionals took the forefront in the market.
From the bureaucratic part – from the wave of cuts to adaptations for new support measures, to the importance of looking out for the well-being of its employees, actively working to promote physical and mental health, especially because of the mixed feelings of those who have been isolated for so long, struggling with all these sudden behaviour changes. The whole context motivates employees and employers not only to debate how to deal with current uncertainties, but also to ask themselves: what will the post-pandemic be like?
Increasingly, human resources management professionals should be seen as business partners, making an efficient management of resources and costs, capable of leveraging productivity and the desired results.
Treat our employees as we treat our customers! It is one of ABC Sustainable Luxury Hospitality main skills!
There isn’t much time for rehearsals or big debates. Now is the time! We all must compromise on something, even if difficult and hard decisions have to be made, it is important to be aligned for the common good and respect for others.
In this context, it is necessary to emphasize the reinvention that anyone who works with human resources management must go through. And so, two dimensions will require special attention:
– Ensure the infrastructure for the operation of the typical HR area: processes, security, benefits, remuneration, training, compliance with legislation
– Contribute to the requalification and transmission of the company’s culture: the work relationships that have changed, the dynamics of leaders and subordinates that will be different. It is necessary to outline the new profile of the professionals of the future, within the cultural and social transformation that we are witnessing.
And for the doors of the future to be opened, the definitive detachment from the past is imperative. We already lived in a technological and digital age, but the pandemic has remarkably accelerated the digital transformation of companies around the world. This only shows that it is possible to facilitate and reduce bureaucracy in the processes.
Review of Values and Behaviors, Flexibility and Creativity are definitely the post-pandemic trends that are here to stay.
